Destiny Bakes - Faery Ink

Merry Christmas Everyone~Hope that you are having an excellent day with family or friends!

My daughter (6) gave me some crafting supplies so we were able to sneak away from the boys and do some crafting. We finished our paintings and as they were drying I was able to create this card for my mother in laws upcoming birthday.

Digi Stamp is from Faery Ink called Destiny Bakes you can find it here. I colored her with copics, die cut her out, added some coral glitter paper and kraft paper mats and to finish it off I added three wood shaped hearts painted with Tim Holtz Distress Paint Abandoned Coral.

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges:

Tomorrow we are celebrating with my in-laws and then on Christmas Day we are home alone. Just myself, hubby, daughter (6)  and son (4). I'm ssssoooo excited for this you have no idea. Usually we are driving all over the country side to visit all our friends and family. This year is a treat for me.

My card for today, I think this will be for Hubby as I don't have a card made for him yet.

Cutting board

My explore broke down, I'm heart broken. I was able to have cricut express ship a replacement to me but I'm not sure when it will arrive. This is the last project I was able to create before it stopped working.

I have made three of these cutting boards and was going to make another when my machine just shut off and refused to turn back on.

I'm entering this into Fantabulous Cricut Challenge "anything but a card" I've used a flourish and letters from criuct and the script writing was a free font that I down loaded.

Thanks for stopping by!

Snowflakes Merry Christmas

Only a few more Christmas cards to make. I need to make a special card for our grade 1 teacher, my close to my heart consultant and my good friend and her family. And after that I can get started on my family gift tags!

Here's a quick card I put together using this weeks sketch at Tuesday Morning Sketch.

Supplies that were used:
Some really old dsp from Creative Memories, I love using up my stash.
Stamps, Merry Christmas is from Recollections and the snowflake & die are Hampton art. I used Slate Grey and Sapphire Ink. I added some white snow flakes from my stash that I'm trying to use up this year. My plan was for blue sequins in the center of snowflake but I looked and didn't have blue but I did have some white. So I grabbed my B99 copic marker and fixed that problem right away.

I hope you enjoyed the card I shared today. I would like to enter into the following challenges.

But happy to say it's going in the mail this afternoon.

Joy

Today I'm sharing my last entry for 52 (Christmas) Card Throwdown for their design team call. This is a quick clean and simple card. It will be easy to add family photos and pop it in the mail for a loved one. The challenge this week is to either sponge or brayer on your card.

I used Hero Arts "joy" stamp with silver embossing powder. Sponged the new color called Pomegranate from Close to my Heart added some shimmer trim tape and wiped off the embossed part of the card.

Thanks so much for stopping by. I love reading comments and will pop over to your blog too.

Merry Wishes

On Black Friday, my hubby braved going into Michaels's with me before going to dinner. We walked by the paper and I said oh I don't need Christmas paper but he liked this chalkboard paper pack that was CHEAP!!! So of course I grabbed it. lol Yesterday I was invited over to my friends to create some last minute Christmas cards. It was so fun to walk over to the mailbox with her and put some cards in the mail BEFORE December 1st!!!! This was a huge accomplishment for her!

Here's one of the cards I made:

Supplies used: Recollections paper, silver foil tape, sentiment stamp unknown, versamark, black with silver embossing powder, snowflake die cut, stickles on the snowflake.

I would love to enter this card at Sweet Sunday Sketch 297 using their fun sketch.

All roads lead home at Christmas

Again I couldn't sleep, so I was up at 4:45am thinking about this card. So I put the coffee on and got to work. My hubby left for work, son is playing with cars and my daughter slept in until 10AM!!! She's only 6, shouldn't be sleeping in like a teenager yet right?

Supplies used: Crafters Companion stamp set Home for Christmas, Colored with copics on Gina K paper. Cut out with spellbinder, added some liquid applique for snow and fur on hat. Blue paper is from Stampin up (years ago) embossed with Snowflake embossing folder. Another spellbinder used for the sentiment popped up with dimensional and some left over twine.

This is my second card for the design team call over at 52 (Christmas) Card Throwdown. This weeks challenge is to create a friends/family card. I think I did both here. I'm sending this to my dear sweet sister in law (family) who has a dog and cat who co-exist together (friends?)

Also would like to add this to the following challenges
Merry Monday (blue, white with embossing)
One Crazy Stamper (winter/Christmas)

Thanks for stopping by to look at my card!

Faery Ink GDT Application

Amanda over at Faery Ink currently has a guest design team call that I am so excited to apply for.

Here are a couple of my projects using her images.

My first project to share today was created especially for this GDT call. I used the beautiful Destiny Snow Faery.

I will be adding this over at Retro Sketches #189

My second project to share was actually the Octover Create and Learn Class I took over at Kit and Clowder with Alyce. I have learnt so much about coloring with Copic Markers from Alyce. For this project I used Gabbie Halloween Witchfire, isn't she adorable? After coloring the 5x7 image I created this door hanger for my trick or treater's to enjoy.

My third and final project for today is one that I shared over on the Faery Ink facebook group. A card for my dear friend and her husband after a miscarriage. I knew this image was perfect as soon as I saw it in the store. Angel heart hugs is so beautiful and peaceful, I know it has given a small bit of comfort to my friend. Thank you Amanda for that!!!!

And now that I have shared some fun projects, I have a couple of questions to answer.

  1. How did you find Faery Ink? I had seen Faery Ink images before on Kit and Clowder and my friend made this card for my daughters birthday in June. I fell more in love with the designs when I started coloring Gabby Whitefire. I have collected the freebies, purchased some favorites and recently won three of the new releases.
  2. What are your top 3 favorite Faery Ink images? Why? (please include the URL to the images in the Faery Ink shop) It's so hard to pick just three favorites, I love them all! Autumn Rose Scarf she's got a funky style that I could use for birthday cards for my friends and their daughters, project life cards & I know this is an image that my little crafter would love to color.  Superhero Arielle reminds me a little bit of the well know Wonder Women. Our house is full of super hero's, human dressed up as them, imagination friend superhero's, plastic ones, soft plush toys, blankets and wall hangers. Our son loves Batman and our daughter loves Wonder women. I'd be a bad mom if I didn't pick a hero. My third favorite is Dragonfly Nymph. I have a friend with a big birthday coming up. We are the kind of friends that can text every day or go weeks, months with out chatting and pick up right where we left off. She loves dragonfly's and I see lots of different coloring techniques that I would love to try out on this image.
  3. How many projects have you made from Faery Ink images? Three that are completed and shared above I have a few printed out and started to plan/color! Stay tune to my blog for more to come. Wanderful Creations
  4. What kind of projects do you like to make from Faery Ink images? (cards, art journals, boxes, candles, art for your personal use etc…) Mostly cards but recently started creating project life cards and mixed media
  5. How many design teams are you currently on?  This month (November 2015) I'm a guest designer for Ching-Chou Kuik and I've applied for a design team call over at 52 Christmas Card Throwdown
  6. How many projects do you need to complete each month in order to satisfy your obligations to your other design teams? At this time all of my commitments are complete.
  7. Would you be open to a long term spot on the team? I would love to!
  8. Is there any month between December 2015 and November 2016 that you will be unavailable to be a guest designer? I am open to all months.
  9. Are you familiar with the WordPress blogging platform? No but I've been using Blogger since 2010. I'm quick to pick up different software with computers so I should be fine.
  10. How often do you post on Facebook? Almost daily.
  11. Do you participate in groups on Facebook? I do! I love commenting on projects that I see and love. I have joined groups of my favorite artists and stamps that I'm quick to grab when crafting. I want to see more projects of the images I'm using.
  12. What other social media platforms are you active on? (Please provide links to your profile at each)  Facebook, Pinterest, Instagram
  13. Is there anything you would like to add? I would like to thank you for this opportunity and I know whom ever you choose will do a fabulous job. I can't wait to see more projects out there with your artwork on them!

Princess Feather Portrait

Good morning,

I'm back today with another fabulous image from Sassy Studio Designs. She's called Princess Feather Portrait. As soon as I saw her I thought the perfect paper pack to use from Close to my Heart called Free to be Me. It has the cutest feather paper. Well great minds think alike because my bestie Sara over at Pyper Creations used the same. I love how we used the same paper back but created completely different cards.

I will be adding her to the following challenges. I would love for you to join us!

Ching-Chou Kuik Digital Stamps Inspiration and Challenge Blog - November 2015 Challenge - Christmas

Guest Designer Badge - please take for your blogs
This month the challenge is "Christmas".

To take part you do not have to use a Ching-Chou Kuik digital stamp but we all do love to see them being used.

If you do use a Ching-Chou Kuik image from her Etsy store you can enter the challenge twice, thus giving you two chances of winning.
It also means that you could be "in the running" of winning the Artist Choice Award where Ching-Chou Kuik herself looks at all the entries using an image from her Etsy Store and the winner gets to pick 5 images free from the Etsy Store as their prize.

My card is using the snowflake angel

I had so much fun creating this card. I colored my image and then created a few different card layouts. I finally settled on keeping my card clean and simple so that my snowflake angel was the main feature on the card. Using a white card base I stamped various snowflakes with Tim Holtz Distress inks. Added the sentiment and clear embossed it so it stands out. Added some frosty friends doddlebug designer paper, a icicle from Tim Holtz idea-ology "frozen", cut my angel with a oval spellbinder.

Thank you so much for the opportunity to be part of the design team as a guest! I can't wait to see what all the wonderful crafters create this month for the challenge.

Halloween Door Hanger / October create and learn

If you haven't seen the amazing Faery Ink digi stamps please check them out. Today I've used Gabbie Halloween Witchfire digital stamp you can purchase ~here. I colored this image with Kit and Clowder October create and learn. If you are interested in purchasing this class you can do so here until November 14th. So after coloring the image I really wanted to display this work of art for my trick or treaters. I thought about doing a canvas or a frame. My bestie Sara told me she found a cauldron at Michaels. It took me a few days to get into Red Deer. I think she had hers made before I bought mine lol.

I covered it with gesso and teal Heidi Swapp spray, some distress inks with different background stamps. Added some cricut spooky fences, chipboard swirls in black and glittery white, flowers and gems and topped it off with a Happy Halloween cutout that I used ultra thick embossing powder to make it shiny and glossy. It really looks like glass! Love UTEP! I added some pumpkin ribbon from Stampin Up and there you have it. My Halloween Door Hanger.

Thanks for stopping by!

Grade 1 Halloween Party

Yesterday was our Grade 1 Halloween Party in the afternoon. Instead of sending in sugary treats we decided to do something a little different this year. I was looking in design space and notice the Halloween Carving cartridge in my subscription. I really liked a lot of the images so I thought why not create a memory game for the kids to play. So I called my girl over and she helped pick the ones to cut. We ended up doing two games. One with circles and images and the second game with squares with different pumpkin faces. I was so impressed with how nicely the explore cut these out, no ripping at all. I even hauled out the laminator for this craft.

The photos were taken late at night so I apologize for the flash on the laminate.

I talked to our teacher and the kids loved the game. Daughter loved it so much she wanted to bring them back home to play with her brother.

Adding this as my second entry to Fantabulous Cricut challenge #263 fright night

Halloween T-shirts

I purchased a couple of bright orange t-shirts from Michael's this summer for the kids to wear when we were at large events like the zoo, fair grounds, parade's. Just a visual to help this mama keep track of where my babes are but still keeping their comfort in exploring.

This week's been full of one child going to a Halloween party while the other child didn't. I wanted the non party goer to still enjoy the moment so I created two of these shirts for them to wear.

They were a hit with the both kids :)

Thanks for stopping by.

September create and learn

I can't believe I forgot to share this! This is the September create and learn over at Kit and Clowder. Alyce is the best copic teacher around! She is so fun, always positive and helpful when you are stuck.

This month we learned how to create a scene using word and basic shapes. Loved learning the sunrays, how to color texture in carpet and the curtains.

Lily by Ching-Chou Kuik

This morning I had some time to create a card with an image that I colored some time ago. I really love Ching-Chou Kuik's artwork! If you are interested this Lily can be purchased here

Products used: Copics, stickles (on the lilies), spellbinders, Close to my heart pink gems, ribbon bow, butterflies and the puffy heart, it's hard to see but there is a sparkly flourish underneath the bow and butterflies. I sprayed the butterflys with a bloom spray in Royal blue. Used some CTMH pink fundamental paper that is embossed, scrap paper for the dark pink and a white card base.

I'm entering this card into the following challenges:

It's beer thirty

This canvas has been in my head for over two years. I won this Tim Holtz clock canvas at a scrapbook retreat years ago and I've been wanting to make something special for my hubby's man cave. I've been collecting embellishments since I won the canvas and I took it to retreat in May to complete. It was there that I found Karleigh Sue as I was searching for a beer girl digi stamp online. I purchased it and have been waiting for a kick start to create. Today is the day! Karleigh Sue has a kraft challenge right now that ends in 16 hours. No pressure right? lol that's totally how I roll.

Here's my canvas:

Products used: Tim Holtz Canvas, Karleigh Sue beer girl, Copics, Xyron, Close to my heart black fundamentals paper (black chevrons), Silver paper, Silver duck tape for dryer vents, Tim Holtz stempunk die, Cricut gears and letters, wood letters, Liquid glass, copper mirco beads, copper inka gold metallic rub, flattened beer cap (ran through the big shot) Prima enjoy lightbulb and fun sparkplug, random rectangle clock with gears on the side.

Sassy studio designs and Freshly Made Sketches

I'm not really into Halloween cards but for one of my favorite groups I'll make one. Here's my October progressive challenge for Sassy Studio designs. Using the Halloween Buttercream Babe.

Sorry my light is terrible today.

Here's a better photo of the babe.

I used my copics to color her, scissors to fussy cut, added a cricut cut of Happy Halloween. The paper is scraps from Close to my Heart Dream Pop.

I'm also entering this over at freshly made sketches #208
