And here's my card.

Tante Bep turned 90 years old! We were out of town the weekend of the party but I want to send a quick card in the mail for her. This sketch paired up with The Stamp Barn - Tulips stamp is perfect. Born in Holland I know this will take her back to the fields of tulips in her childhood.

Good Morning TMS friends!  Thank you so much for joining us today.  We have a great sketch from Jessi, it's basic with so many options!  You'll be inspired by the team's cards.
The Sketch....

Sponsor:  Melissa

This card is for my son's playschool teacher. She has been such an amazing teacher. She has helped him from the shy little guy who wouldn't let go of my leg to become the boy with a big smile full of energy ready to go in and play. Next Monday we will watch him walk the stage to graduate and then in June we will watch our nephew graduate from high school.

Please make sure you stop by Tuesday Morning Sketches and see what my team mates have created for you this week.

Praying for Fort McMurray

Earlier this month a huge forest fire swept through the city of Fort McMurray in Northern Alberta. This fire forced over 80,000 people to evacuate. Some went North to work camps in the area, others were able to get on the highway heading south. My friend and her two young boys were North for a few days, once her husband arrived they were able to head south to her sisters place. They have lost everything. Her oldest son and my boy were born the same time (we met online in a baby group during our pregnancies) Our group has done a collection for her and we are all sending cards of encouragement and love.  I've made a couple of these cards. One for my friends family and one for a card drive set up by my friend Sara over at Pyper Creations. If you would like to send a card to an evacuated family please contact Sara for her info.

Update as of May 21, 2016: The Fort McMurray wildfire remains out of control. It is estimated to cover 504,443 hectares, including 741 hectares in Saskatchewan. There are 1,860 firefighters, 189 helicopters, 306 pieces of heavy equipment and 29 air tankers currently battling the fires. A preliminary re-entry plan has been established and it is anticipated that residents can begin going home June 1.

Create and Learn - April 2016

Thanks for stopping by today. My family is off camping in the snow/rain with out me. I'm feeling a tiny tiny bit guilty but honestly I just needed some down time. Watch chick flicks, eat popcorn for lunch and just color.

Here's what I just finished up. Kit and Clowder is an online coloring class. This image is done with the April class called create and learn. Every month on the 15th a new class is released for copic markers. So many techniques are taught each month it is well worth the class cost. Alyce gives the copic markers she uses but you can switch out for colors that you have in your collection. The image used here is called Best Friends Dinosaur by Polkadoodles.

Good Morning Everyone,
Welcome back for another Tuesday Morning Sketch.

Our Sketch this week was created by Melissa.

Cake Walk

Our school just finished a fun filled evening hosting a carnival fundraiser. My feet are throbbing as I type this blog post. I've been on my feet for 14 hours straight.

Family purchased tickets:

  • play all sorts of games made by our carpentry dads (plinko, strong man, skeet ball, race cars)
  • food (hot dogs, chips, ice tea, lemonade, cotton candy)
  • bounce house
  • 50/50 tickets
  • cake walk
Now before joining the planning team I had never heard of a cake walk, but thanks to pinterest I was clued in ;) I volunteered for more than I should have but that's what mom's do for their kids right? Here's my cake that I baked at 9pm last night, iced and decorated before heading to the school to set up at 8am today. Our sweet little friend Ava won our cake for her mom and also won the gluten free cupcakes that she made. Lucky girl got to eat a treat right away!

Here's a peek at the signs I have been creating this last week. They looked amazing laminated and hung up. I was so busy directing volunteers that I didn't get a chance to take to many photos but I know they are out there...

Fantabulous Cricut is having a Mother's Day challenge that I would love to enter this cake topper into.
